Unfiltered~Daily Essence On Jkrishnamurthy Teachings

What is the point of running away from who we truly are? Whether we think we are foolish or intelligent, good or bad, attached to a particular ideology, or trapped in an unhealthy habit, we should honestly ask ourselves: Why do I believe this about myself? Why am I living this way?

To deeply accept ourselves is not easy. We have rarely experienced a world that allows us to simply be who we are. Every moment, people, society, time, and circumstances shape us. They influence us constantly, making it difficult to remain authentic.

That is why we spend so much of our lives imitating others. Sometimes we behave like our parents, sometimes like a movie star. We follow an ideal, a belief, or an ideology. Most of us begin life trying to become someone else. Then, after many years have passed, we finally begin trying to become ourselves—but by then, much of life has already slipped away.

Being yourself does not mean remaining trapped in your habits, refusing to change, or living unconsciously. It means knowing yourself completely. It means understanding yourself with great depth and honesty. Only then can you truly be yourself.

You need to know your emotions, your memories, your strengths, your weaknesses—everything that makes you who you are. Only then can you stand in this world with courage, without pretending to be someone else. Only then does life become deeply meaningful. Perhaps that is when we become truly original human beings. Perhaps that is when every mask we have been wearing finally falls away.

When we are truly ourselves, we become deeply beautiful and sincere. In that moment, we are free from the images we have created about ourselves. We are fully alive. Yet very few people experience this kind of freedom in their lives.

I believe every human being should look within and ask: What inside me truly belongs to me, and what has been imposed by others? That simple inquiry may be the beginning of a profound understanding of oneself.
