Topic - "Observer is Observed"


Words enter the mind through the ears, and we immediately try to find their meaning. If those words are connected to our memories, understanding them becomes very easy. If they are not connected to anything we already know, they do not stay in the mind for long. Sometimes we use books or the internet to understand unfamiliar words.


Every word connected to memory carries a story, an image, or an experience.


A smell reaches us through the nose, and we recognize it because it is already part of our memory. The memory associated with that smell appears instantly in the mind. If it is the aroma of good food, a desire to eat may also arise.


We see something through our eyes, and if that image is linked to our memories, thinking begins. The mind starts moving through old experiences and associations.


Sometimes we have a feeling that we already know or understand something. Even then, we try to understand it through the memories we have collected in the past.


Essence Of JKrishnmurthy Teachings 



This is what happens within us every day. There is an observer who receives information through the senses, interprets it through memory, and then reacts. Can we watch this process as it happens?


Listen to what the ears hear.


See what the eyes see.


Then we may begin to understand how the observer is the observed.


There is another simple example. When a man sees a woman, a sexual sensation may suddenly arise in the body. A small child does not experience the same reaction because the child does not yet fully recognize the psychological distinctions and associations between men and women.


When you begin to observe these movements of action and reaction within yourself with complete attention, everything becomes much clearer and simpler.


The whole process can then be seen directly, as it is.

 पूतात्मा परमात्मा च मुक्तानां परमागतिः।अव्ययः पुरुषः साक्षी क्षेत्रज्ञोऽक्षर एव च॥ 12."मुक्तानां परमागतिः श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता में श्रीकृष्ण कहते हैं।"हे कुन्तीपुत्र अर्जुन! जो मुझे प्राप्त हो जाता है, वह फिर इस संसार में जन्म नहीं लेता। वह जन्म और मरण के चक्र से मुक्त हो जाता है।" यही मनुष्य जीवन का अंतिम लक्ष्य है। जो मनुष्य पूर्णतः इस क्षण में जीता है, वह उसी महान चेतना के साथ एकीकृत होता है। इस क्षण में वह मनोवैज्ञानिक समय के बंधनों से मुक्त होता है। यहाँ न अतीत का बोझ है, न भविष्य का भय। इसी क्षण में न जन्म है, न मृत्यु। इसी क्षण में परम मुक्ति विद्यमान है, और यही हमारे जीवन का सर्वोच्च उद्देश्य है। हे प्रभु! तुम ही जीवन का एकमात्र सत्य हो। तुम्हें जानना और तुम्हें प्राप्त करना ही इस मानव जीवन का सबसे महान कर्म है। धूल से ढका हुआ दर्पण जब साफ कर दिया जाता है, तो वह पुनः अपनी स्वाभाविक चमक से प्रकाशित हो उठता है। धूल का आना और जाना लगा रहता है, पर उससे दर्पण के वास्तविक स्वरूप पर कोई प्रभाव नहीं पड़ता। वह तो सदैव से ही निर्मल और प्रकाशमान है। ठीक इसी प्रकार, जब मनुष्य अ...
